The 2012 Quilt Show Commttee

Saturday, 21 January                     QUILT SHOW COMMITTEE - The 2012 Quilt Show Committee will explain in detail, the rules for entering quilts as well as all other particulars about the upcoming show.  They will answer questions from the membership.

Saturday, 21 January                            Fee:  None                   1pm - 4pm  Storybook Quilts Workshop - Brenda Goggans will lead us in a workshop to complete quilts to be used in local elementary school libraries.  Please plan to participate, all skill levels are needed!

Eileen Urbanek - A Judy Niemeyer Certified Teacher

Saturday, 18 February                              GET RE-EXCITED - Eileen will bring approximately 30 quilts and tell their stories.  She hopes to get us "Re-excited" about getting into our stash and cranking out some projects.

 

Saturday, 18 February                             Fee: $30.00                   1pm - 4pm         Kit:  No charge.  Will be for one placemat and there will be a variety of fabrics to choose from, special tools will also be provided:  "Add a Quarter Rulers" and Glue Pens.  Students may purchase the pattern and bring their own fabrics if they choose.  Patterns and tools will be for sale.

Cappuccino - A Party for Four, by Judy Niemeyer 
This class will teach you the simplicity of foundation paper piecing along with a concept using two strips of fabric to create one very simple and appealing block design.

Quilts of Illusions - Explore the world of optical illusions with Karen as she shows you some of the wonderful quilts that quilters have created using optical illusions.  Slides and quilts of illusion complete this lecture.

Friday, 16 March                                  Fee: $50.00                   9am - 4pm     Patchwork Illusions -Visual depth has fascinated artists for centuries, Karen has developed a quick and easy rotary technique that allows you to make quilts with a 3-D look. In the class, you will learn how to create quilts shown in Gallery 3. This is Karen's favorite class because it is so easy to create truly amazing quilts of illusion. Let Karen share her secrets, so you may become a master of illusion! Supply List
