  Saturday, January 16 - "Story Book Quilts Workshop"

Brenda Goggans can use any help such as cutting, pressing, marking, or just being a runner.  Bring you machine and sew!  She'll have some appliqué so if you like to use a stabilizer behind your appliqué, please bring it.  To sign up, Contact Brenda before the meeting.  Workshop is free and a light lunch will be served.

"Kick It Up A Notch (Brights at their best)"

We will explore the many possibilities of using bright fabrics in unusual settings, working with wool, black & white fabrics, vertical settings, row quilts, and flannel quilts

Friday, February 19 Wool Felt Appliqué

Wool felt appliqué is the easiest method of appliqué...no turned edges, just cut and sew.  Learn basic embroidery stitches while creating a beautiful Spring pillow. We will  be using freezer paper to make the quickest appliqué templates ever.  We will discuss the difference between wool, wool felt and acrylic  felt.  You will also learn the basics for felting your own wool.  Kit (Folk Art Rabbit Pillow) will include all the wool felt needed for this project, DMC floss, freezer paper, and my favorite embroidery needle. Supplies needed: fabric scissors, paper scissors, and thimble.

Friday’s class is from 1 – 4 p.m. at the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church.  There is a $40 workshop fee which includes the kit.

Blank Quilting Representative.  She will present a lecture and handout with everything you need to know to make stripe quilts using stripe fabric.  She promises we will never look at stripes the same way again.

"Making Minis, Not Harder, Just Smaller"

 

A presentation of what goes into making miniature quilts, including fabric selection, supplies, and techniques.  Trunk show follows.  Lecture is based on her published article in "Quilter's World" magazine".

 

Saturday, April 17 -"Unfoundation" Piecing 101

No more tearing off the foundation! In this workshop you will learn how to sew "off" the foundation and make a large NY Beauty block. It is a technique class and something you can use on other foundation patterns. If you put four blocks together it will make a pillow or small wall hanging. The class also includes my special pinning technique for perfect curves every time.
Half day - Confident beginner to advanced quilter. Supply list.

Saturday's class is from 1 – 4 p.m. at the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church.  There is a $54 workshop fee which includes required template.  Additional fabric kit may be ordered in advance for $15

"Crazy Patchwork Embellishment"

An appliqué and embroidery artist, her new book Crazy Patchwork, has just been published.  Her career was launched with the ever popular pattern, "Texas Our Texas".

 

Saturday, May 15 - "Crazy Patchwork Embellishment"

This is a creative class where you will learn how to embellish a crazy patchwork block by hand, using threads, silk ribbon, beads, lace, buttons, and more. You will need to make the block ahead of time using the instructions attached, or bring another block you have prepared, so you will be ready to embellish in the class.  Pre-class Instructions.   Supply list.
