Jan 19  - Quiltfest 2008 Co-Chairs Kick-off--Entry categories, rules and other criteria

 

Storybook Quilts”, 3-4 hour workshop with Brenda Goggans. Kits & instructions will be ready for volunteers to cut, sew or appliqué. Bring your mat, ruler, rotary cutter and/or sewing machine to have fun and participate in this very worthwhile workshop. A light lunch will be served. 

Feb 16 - Cyndi Sauder     Lessons Learned” Lecture & Trunk Show 

 

Saturday, February 16th, “TREES"  This 3-hour workshop ( 1-4 pm) will concentrate on freeform rotary cutting, sewing curves, persuasive pressing and quick construction.  Students must be comfortable with their rotary cutters.  $25 fee

 “A Sewing Journey”

Saturday, March 15th, “Scrappy Waves – Making a Beach Cabin”, 3 hour workshop (1-4 pm). Traditional log cabin block made with Lily’s invention, “The Wave Edge Ruler. You will create a beautiful & unique beach cabin block.
Lily will cover putting together blocks, borders, bindings & making a spiral piece for the borders.

Apr 19 - Kathy Lincoln

"Design Your Own Appliqué"

 

            

Vining Along QuiltSaturday, April 19th, “Design Your Appliqué", a 3 hour workshop (1-4pm). You will explore the basic techniques, design a block, then start the construction process using your favorite technique.

May 17 - Linda Poole

"Quilted Journey Around the World"

 

Friday, May 16, "Tippy Toes Fairy", a 6-hour workshop from 9 am - 3 pm.  Class fee is $45.00 and limited to the first 25 signing up.

Linda says, “everyone smiles when creating Tippy Toes who balances herself on a crescent moon.”  Add a little sparkle to your life with the magic of fairies.  Learn in one day just how easy appliqué can be when Linda teaches you her glue-stick appliqué technique.

"Appliqué - One Artist's Quilting Adventure"

Saturday, Jun 21, a 3-hour class on Susan's Award winning, "Prickly Pear Cactus Blossom" pattern. $25.00 Workshop fee.

Learn fusible web appliqué techniques while creating this beautiful quilt. Pattern fee $12 Kit fee $22

Jul 19 - Marilyn Doheny

 

"Pick A Shape, Any Shape--Which one are you?"

Friday, Jul 18, from 9am-3 pm, will be a 6 hour class called "Fantastic Fan Sampler" that features the fast, fun, and complete making of 3 uniquely diverse, non-seam matching fan designs. 

20 assorted designs are presented. All are made with Marilyn's 9° Circle Wedge Rulers using any of the 5 sizes. Fans are turned into flowers and butterflies to make a garden of delight. Everyone finishes their first 3 fans and no 2 quilts are alike.

$45 fee

Aug 15 - Ida Blankenship  "His Majesty: the TREE"

 Saturday, Aug 15. from 1- 4 pm, Ida will conduct a workshop on the different techniques for appliqué and embellishment used in her Blue Ribbon Quilt. 

 

Sep 20 - Linda Chang

"Inspiration and What To Do With It"

Linda is from Spring Branch, Tx and is known for her ability to make scrappy quilts from whatever fabric she "finds."  Come prepared to be inspired.

Her Saturday 3 hour class is "Windy Whirlys":--a fun and easy scrappy piwheel quilt.  You'll learn how to work with all types of fabrics, including color and fabric placement to achieve the best possible results.

Oct 18 - Frieda Anderson 

"Frieda's Fun - Fast Fusing"

After the morning lecture and trunk show, Frieda will teach a 3 hour class on fusing and design, using decorative rotary blades and fused hand-dyed fabrics. Frieda will also demonstrate fun ways to create strip units. leaves, and stems to achieve a woodland wonder.

 

Nov 15 - Brenda Jeschke

"Why I made this quilt"

Brenda's trunk show will be followed by a 3-hour workshop on Hand Quilting, covering the quilting needle, thread, and batting, along with tips on how to sandwich and baste your quilt for hand quilting.
